What Is EcoPaste?
EcoPaste is a desktop clipboard manager for macOS and Windows. It keeps copied content on your machine so you can search, preview, organize, and reuse it later.
Think of it as a more capable clipboard history panel: copied text, links, images, files, and rich content can be recorded, then brought back with a shortcut whenever you need them.
What It Helps With
- Recover content that was just overwritten by a new copy.
- Search past text, links, paths, email addresses, and notes.
- Keep common snippets organized with favorites, pinned items, and groups.
- Preview images, files, and long text without switching apps repeatedly.
- Paste web or document content as formatted text or plain text when needed.
- Export backups before reinstalling the system or moving to another device.
Supported Content
EcoPaste can record:
- Plain text.
- HTML and RTF rich text.
- Images.
- Files and folders.
You can turn off content types you do not need in Preferences, and set maximum capture sizes for text and images.
Where Data Lives
EcoPaste history, settings, and resource cache stay on your device. In Preferences, you can open the data directory, clean resource cache, or export an .ecopastebak backup.
