#Why does EcoPaste need Accessibility permission?

Accessibility permission is used for quick paste, window control, and more reliable system interaction. Without it, EcoPaste can still record some content, but automatic opening, quick paste, or focus control may be limited.

#Why does EcoPaste need Full Disk Access?

Full Disk Access helps EcoPaste read required local data and app resources protected by macOS. It does not upload your clipboard to the cloud; it makes local indexing, resource reads, and app identification more reliable.

#Why does EcoPaste still ask for permission after I granted it?

macOS does not always refresh permission state immediately. Quit and reopen EcoPaste first. If the warning remains, turn the permission off and on again in System Settings. A system restart can also refresh the permission database.

#What should I do if the menu bar icon disappears?

Confirm EcoPaste is still running, then check whether the icon is hidden by the notch area, Control Center, or a menu bar organizer. If you use Bartender, Ice, or a similar utility, set EcoPaste to stay visible.

#What if the shortcut conflicts with macOS shortcuts?

Avoid Spotlight, input source switching, screenshots, Mission Control, and other system shortcuts. A less crowded combination such as Control + Option plus a letter key is usually easier to keep stable.

#Why can’t EcoPaste auto-paste into some apps?

Some sandboxed apps, remote desktops, virtual machines, or password fields block simulated paste. Use the “Copy” action first, then paste manually in the target app.

#Is it normal to see clipboard content from my iPhone?

Yes, if Apple Universal Clipboard is enabled. Content copied on an iPhone, iPad, or another Mac may arrive on this Mac’s clipboard, and EcoPaste records what the local clipboard receives. If you do not want that, pause EcoPaste temporarily or add the source app to ignored apps.
